Amy Wadge

@ The Marr's Bar, Worcester, 15/12/02

This was another one of those Sunday nights that will be remembered for years by the thirty to forty music lovers that bothered to turn out.

Petite and quite stunning, Amy Wadge performed just over an hour of her exciting brand of acoustic songs. Several were from her excellent debut album, 'The Famous Hour', such as 'Therapy', 'I don't Give A ......' and 'Happy Anniversary' with 'Saddest Eyes', her debut single, thrown in for good measure. Some new material and a few older numbers made up her set of tantalisingly good toons!

The bubbly, almost hyper, Amy swapped from 6 to 12 string guitars so quickly there was hardly time to take a breath before the next song started. Her, powerful, gritty and sometimes downright raunchy voice just seems to get better with every outing. Amy is a positive bundle of energy on stage, she has a great presence and interacts with her attentive followers with a nervousness that belies her seemingly easy and thoughourly professional approach to her singing. Her powerful but intricate guitar style provided the perfect platform for her catchy and meaningful songs.

Although the crowd was small tonight, her trip across country from Wales reaped rewards with a good few CD sales - quite right too!

If you missed Amy tonight, look out in the new year for her next gig which promises to be totally awesome as she intends to gig with a band rather than solo - wow!!
