Ambershift

CD - No More Fuss

Play 90 second soundbite of 'Bailout' @ 'CD quality'

Hold on to your seats readers coz Ambershift are here to rock yer arses off with their own distinctive blend of up-beat pop/rock.

Ambershift have obvious leanings towards the writing of Paul Weller and utilise distinctly Edge-like guitars but, Ambershift aren't another Jam or a second U2! No way, Ambershift are just Ambershift - and, prepare for an aural onslaught readers coz Ambershift don't allow you much respite from their hard driven wares; the pace is almost unrelenting and the energy is, at times, unnerving and slightly disconcerting (in the most enjoyable way!). Ambershift certainly put everything into their music and you just can't help but get carried along in their wake; feeling jostled and bruised as you ride along in their jet-steam - but these guys don't leave you behind, they suck you in and squeeze out yer juices leaving you drained but otherwise unhurt and pleasantly fulfilled.

If Ambershift don't get you with the incessant guitar riffs, they'll surely win you over with the punchy bass work - the two combine stunningly and are driven on by superbly executed drum work that always does just enough and sits nicely tucked up behind the leads. The naturally vibrato-ised vocals (they bring to mind Fergal Sharkey!) are impassioned and refreshingly clear enabling the listener to really 'get into' the words. 'No More Fuss' is quality from start to finish - not a bad track in sight but one or two that do tend to stand out; I particularly like 'Another Trigger', 'No More Fuss' and 'Tilt' - I can't tell you why - I just got off on 'em both first time around!

'No More Fuss' by the excellent Ambershift is rammed full of goodies, over-flowing with rockin' charisma and pretty much unputdownable. If you like your rock to be on the commercial side of heavy but with definite indie tendencies then 'No More Fuss' might just get yer goin'. Full of pace, burstin' with energy, massively addictive - 'No More Fuss' by Ambershift is exactly what its title suggests - no pretence, no messin', just pure and simple, no frills, honest to goodness indie/rock with well honed flair and adrenalin injected passion. Great stuff!!
