Alexandra Morris

@ The Marr's Bar, Worcester - 30/9/01

Alexandra Morris appeared at The Marr's Bar, Worcester to perform her haunting song, 'September Angels'. As she took to the stage, accompanied on acoustic guitar by mum Nina, the demur 11 year old soon quietened the hundred or so audience with her heartfelt lyrics. A well crafted song from this talented star of the future was performed with feeling and confidence and it received the reception it deserved. Alex sold a number of copies after the show and was slightly embarrassed but pleasantly pleased to be asked to autograph a number of them.

Alex wrote the song in a single day after seeing the World Trade Centre atrocity on television. She was so moved that she wanted to help in any way she could. Her way was to pen a song about the events of September 11th, put it onto CD and convince record companies to distribute it in a noble attempt to raise money in support of the stricken city and those affected by the tragedy.

She managed to get the song put onto CD at cost price but unfortunately, so far, no record company has been willing to assist Alex with her charitable actions. Some local (Worcester) support has been received with Andy's Records in Friary Walk stocking copies for sale, Worcester Evening News with a soundbite on its website at www.thisisworcester.co.uk and The Marr's Bar, Pierpoint Street, by allowing this live performance.
