Listening to 50Hz may just make you think of Muse and I can empathise with that, I was there too - at least at the start. After a couple of listens to this superb album I came to the conclusion that although there are similarities to the great Muse, 50Hz are sufficiently different but equally as impressive. More subtle than Muse. Less obtuse than Muse. That's my opinion. 50Hz show great promise here. In fact, it's more than just promise - they've come up with something that'll be hard to follow; 'Here Goes Everything' is the mutt's nuts!
50Hz do the whole 'structured' songs thing to the nth degree; fronted by superb, expansive and expressive vocals that are as individual as f**k and blessed with instrumental abilities second to none 50Hz pull it all together to massive effect. Their songs range from heady, (distorted) guitar avant-rock to bittersweet balladic. 50Hz aren't just great musicians with a natural penchant for expressive performance, they write and compose breathtaking songs that form the foundations on which they build musically, both individually and collectively. 'Here Goes Everything' is pure brilliance! Defo one that'll be getting many, many plays by me over the coming months.
50Hz don't put a foot wrong here; they take the listener on a varied and imaginative 'trip' to now-rock heaven with a set of emotional, evocative and rewarding rock songs that shout quality from start to finish. Surely 50Hz are looking at a very positive and prosperous future - they certainly deserve massive success judging by this awesome release. 'Here Goes Everything' by 50Hz is stunning!
