Play 90 second soundbite of 'Erika' @ 'CD quality'
If these two songs are typical of what 28 Costumes normally churn out then I'm not only impressed but amazed too - what great music!! 28 Costumes are instantly recognisable, they make 'timeless' pop music, they sound like they are enjoying every minute of it and they certainly rank as one of the most ebullient sounding bands I've come across for donkey's trousers. You might know that 28 Costumes are a Liverpool band; the city renowned for music and comedy. Now, I don't actually think that 28 Costumes intend to be funny but they do seem to exude joy and a bubbly something that's intangible but nicely engaging and they've definitely put a smile back on my face!
Now, 28 Costumes have been compared to a couple of well known, established outfits - however, 28 Costumes don't need comparisons! In fact, I could easily envisage other bands being likened to 28 Costumes in years to come - yes, this brilliant sounding band could easily become standard setters and roll models of the future - yes, they're that good and that memorable! I just have to keep on pressing 'play' here and listening over and over to both songs. 28 Costumes are absolutely right in their choice of running order; 'Erika' is spot-on for the 'A' side with 'Death Mask' coming a very close second - both would work as stand-alone singles anyway, both should see 28 Costumes getting the plaudits they deserve. Both songs are radio friendly and both also deserve as much exposure as possible - surely 28 Costumes must be on the verge of something really big if these two brilliant songs are anything to go by!! I can't fault anything here; the songs are ace, the performances are exceptional, even the packaging is bloody good. What more could anybody want or expect? 28 Costumes - the best of British!! Brilliant stuff!!
